The actress, Priya, needed her hands free as she crawled through the ventilation system, making traditional hand-held flashlights a no-go. Coupled with the Director of Photography’s need for a light source to illuminate the pitch-black tunnel resulted in the invention of Erica’s flashlight helmet.
And it became iconic enough to inspire both merchandise and fan art.
